Buckwheat groats are hard and crunchy and look kind of like steel cut oats. They are in this recipe for their texture. This recipe is really flexible though and as long as you keep the tahini, chocolate ratio the same you can add whatever you like. Nuts and seeds would all be good subs.

Thank you very much! :)

Hi Sharon, All the gram measurements are there now. There should be no reason it wouldn't set unless you added far too much tahini. There are a lot of ingredients to add to the chocolate mixture but it should all mix in ok. When you put it into the tin to set be sure you press it all down so it's really compact and make sure you leave it long enough before cutting. It takes quite a few hours for it to set properly.

Hi

Could you tell Monte how many grand a cup equates to. I used the internet and it said a chip is 340g. When I put all the dried ingredients in it didn't set and crumbled when I cut it.

Thanks

Hi Robin,
It makes no difference whether you use chocolate chips or chocolate bars. Just whatever you have or can get. Don't use cocoa though. That's why I give the cups and weight measurement as a chocolate bar wouldn't fit in the cups like chips would. It is a lot of chocolate but it makes about 16 good sized squares ( you can cut them as big or small as you like though). I did just notice a mistake on the recipe that says it serves 1. As much as I'd like to eat it all it does serve at least 9, more if you cut them smaller. I will amend that error tonight. I hope you both enjoy them. They are really good!

These chocolate tahini crunch bars sound amazing. I have a question though and apparently i am the only one who can't figure this out cause i read the comments and no one else made a comment/question.
Do you use chocolate chips or chocolate bars? I am thinking not cacao powder or you would have said that.
Two cups of chocolate is a lot .
Can't wait to hear what you say cause I want to make these. My husband, especially loves chocolate these days.
Thanks, Robin m.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and leave feedback. I really appreciate it and I am so glad you enjoyed these chocolate tahini bars so much. Try not to eat them all at once...I know how tempting they are.....;O)
