I'm not sure that fresh strawberries in the batter would work out well. They might get a bit wet and tasteless by the time they were baked up in it. You'd be much better off just baking it as it is then adding a strawberry topping. These roasted strawberries are amazing with it and end up saucy once cool. I'd double the recipe so you have plenty.
