Set yourself up for the day with this velvety smooth, creamy, thick & incredibly delicious Chocolate Tahini Pumpkin Smoothie. It might taste rich enough for dessert but it is healthy, satisfying and full of nutrients!
It's now October so I think I can safely publish my first pumpkin recipe of the year. I might have waited until now to share my new Chocolate Pumpkin Tahini Smoothie recipe, but I couldn't hold out this long without breaking into last years pumpkin recipes.
I have been making my Pumpkin Pecan & Chocolate Granola Bars regularly for a few weeks now. They are absolutely perfect for snacking, lunch boxes and even for quick on the go breakfasts. I also plan on making my Vegan Pumpkin Pie this weekend as it desperately needs rephotographing.....(that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)
Smoothies are such a quick and easy breakfast option and I love them. I have been making my Healthy Chocolate Smoothie at least weekly since I published it in March and I noticed this week that my local greengrocer has fresh locally grown cranberries in stock so I will be introducing my Cranberry Walnut & Apple Smoothie to the breakfast rotation again soon.
Until then pumpkin is taking centre stage and chocolate is such an obvious accompaniment. The two go so well together. The tahini was actually an afterthought but I am thankful that I tried it because it works amazingly well with the other flavours.
This smoothie is extremely thick and rich and is probably the creamiest, velvetiest smoothie I have ever made. You have the beautiful and very flavoursome tahini to thank for that. It works like a dream both in texture and taste.
The slightly bitter roasted sesame flavour compliments the chocolate and pumpkin and adds healthy fat and lots of staying power. Serve it in a glass or as a smoothie bowl with lots of lovely toppings. I sprinkled mine generously with cacao nibs and sesame seeds!
As with most smoothies, this Chocolate Tahini Pumpkin Smoothie is extremely easy to make. Just throw everything in a blender and a minute or two later you will be in breakfast heaven. It's great for using up that half a cup of pumpkin you often have left after making other recipes!

I made the smoothie for breakfast, and the pumpkin pancakes for lunch. My husband decided that this should be our regular Sunday breakfast smoothie! So tasty and creamy!

Made this for breakfast and I was expecting to taste pumpkin and tahini... but it ended up tasting like chocolate ice cream??!!! There must be some sorcery going on here! And the texture is perfectly velvety! (Btw I used frozen leftover pumpkin and homemade almond milk.)
